Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 which He willed against them for seven nights and eight days without cease, so that in the end thou couldst see those people laid low [in death,] as though they were so many [uprooted] trunks of hollow palm trees: 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
