Whatever of misfortune striketh you, it is what your right hands have earned. And He forgiveth much. 30 And you will not cause failure [to Allah] upon the earth. And you have not besides Allah any protector or helper. 31 And of His portents are the ships, like banners on the sea; 32 and if He wills, He stills the wind, and they remain motionless on its back. Surely in that are signs for every man enduring, thankful. 33 Or He can cause them to perish because of the (evil) which (the men) have earned; but much doth He forgive. 34 But let those know, who dispute about Our Signs, that there is for them no way of escape. 35 So whatever thing you are given, that is only a provision of this world's life, and what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who believe and rely on their Lord. 36 who refrain from heinous sins and gross indecencies; who forgive when they are angry; 37 those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, 38 and who, whenever tyranny afflicts them, defend themselves. 39 The recompense of a sin is a sin like it, but whosoever forgives and seeks to reform, his wage will be with Allah. Surely, He does not love the harmdoers. 40 Those who defend themselves after they have been wronged cannot be held blameworthy, 41 The way of blame is only against those who wrong mankind, and rebel in the earth without justice; these! for them is a torment afflictive. 42 whoever is patient and forgiving, acts with great courage and resolution. 43
