Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Indeed We sent Nooh towards his people saying that, “Warn your people before the painful punishment comes upon them.” 1 He said: O my people! Surely I am a plain warner to you: 2 that you serve Allah and fear Him, and follow me; 3 so that He may forgive you some of your sins, and grant you respite until a term known [to Him alone]: but, behold, when the term appointed by God does come, it can never be put back - if you but knew it!" 4 He said: "O Lord, I called my people night and day, 5 but it has had no effect on them except to make them run away. 6 And whenever I called them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and wrapped them in their garments, and persisted, and waxed very proud. 7 Then I invited them publicly. 8 "Then verily, I proclaimed to them in public, and I have appealed to them in private, 9 And I said: ask forgiveness of your Lord; verily He is ever Most Forgiving. 10 He will send the heaven upon you copiously; 11 increase your wealth and sons; and grant you gardens and waterways. 12 What has come upon you that you do not fear the majesty of God, 13 Knowing that He has created you by various stages? 14 Do you not see how God has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 "'And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow from the earth a [progressive] growth. 17 He will then return you back to it, and bring you out again. 18 And Allah has made for you the earth an expanse 19 That you may go about therein in broad roads. 20
