50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
