The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And the close of night, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
