The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
