The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky containing great stars 1 By the Promised Day! 2 And [by] the witness and what is witnessed, 3 Accursed be the People of the Ditch! 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 When they sat by it 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- 8 Whose kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and women without repenting will suffer the torment of hell and that of the burning fire. 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe. 12 Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 Always doing whatever He wills. 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 (The armies of) Firaun and the tribe of Thamud. 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. 21 in a guarded tablet. 22
