Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
