The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
