Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars fall, scattering, 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 And when the Graves are turned upside down;- 4 (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. 5 Human being, what evil has deceived you about your Gracious Lord, 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 In whatsoever form He listed He constructed thee. 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 but you should know that there are angelic guards 10 Honourablel scribes. 11 who know what you do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 and from it they shall never be absent. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
