The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the defrauders, 1 Those who when they take the measure from others, take it in full! 2 And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. 3 Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? 4 unto a mighty day 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? 8 It is a Book inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts. 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 Then they will indeed burn in Hell. 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 And what could make thee conceive what that mode most lofty will be? 19 a written record, 20 To which bear witness those nearest (to Allah, i.e. the angels). 21 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous will indeed be in bliss: 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 On their faces you will see the glow of beatitude. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine whereon the seal [of God] will have been set, 25 its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete; 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 Behold, the wicked were wont to laugh at the believers: 29 And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
