Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Greed for more and more distracted you [from God] 1 Till you reach the grave. 2 But no, indeed, you shall soon know. 3 Again, no indeed, you shall soon know. 4 Nay, if you could but understand [it] with an understanding [born] of certainty, 5 You have indeed to behold Hell; 6 Again, indeed you will see it with certainty. 7 Then on that Day you shall be questioned about your worldly favours. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
