Do not abandon your children out of fear of poverty. We will provide for them and for you. Killing them is certainly a great wrong. 31 Nor come nigh to adultery: for it is a shameful (deed) and an evil, opening the road (to other evils). 32 And do not take any human being's life - [the life] which God has willed to be, sacred - otherwise than in [the pursuit of] justice. Hence, if anyone has been slain wrongfully, We have empowered the defender of his rights [to exact a just retribution]; but even so, let him not exceed the bounds of equity in [retributive] killing. [And as for him who has been slain wrongfully - ] behold, he is indeed succoured [by God]! 33 And do not approach the property of an orphan, except in the way that is best, until he reaches maturity. And fulfill [every] commitment. Indeed, the commitment is ever [that about which one will be] questioned. 34 And give full measure whenever you measure, and weigh with a balance that is true: this will be [for your own] good, and best in the end. 35 Do not follow what you do not know. The hearing, sight and heart about all these you shall be questioned. 36 And walk not on the earth with conceit and arrogance. Verily, you can neither rend nor penetrate the earth, nor can you attain a stature like the mountains in height. 37 The evil of all that is hateful in the sight of thy Lord. 38 This is part of the wisdom that your Lord has revealed to you. Do not set up any other deity with God, lest you be cast into Hell, condemned and rejected. 39 Hath then your Lord distinguished you with sons and taken for Himself females from among the angels? Verily ye say a saying mighty? 40
