And certainly We created man, and We know what his mind suggests to him, and We are nearer to him than his life-vein. 16 Since the two scribes are sitting on each of his shoulders, he does not utter a word which is not recorded immediately by the watchful scribes. 17 He utters not a word but there is by him a watcher at hand. 18 And when the agony of death comes in truth (they will say): 'This is what you have been trying to avoid' 19 And the trumpet will be blown: this is the Day of the Threatening. 20 Each person will arrive attended by an [angel] to drive him on and another to bear witness. 21 (And the driver will say:) "You were oblivious of this, so we have removed the veil, and how keen is your sight today!" 22 His companion will say: "Here is (the record) I have ready with me." 23 (And it will be said): "Both of you throw (Order from Allah to the two angels) into Hell, every stubborn disbeliever (in the Oneness of Allah, in His Messengers, etc.). 24 who hinders good, exceeds the limits, is immersed in doubts, 25 who set up with God another god; therefore, you twain, cast him into the terrible chastisement.' 26 ۞ His comrade saith: Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he was (himself) far gone in error. 27 He (Allah) will say: 'Do not dispute before Me. I sent you a warning beforehand. 28 No word is to be exchanged in My presence. I am not unjust to My servants". 29
