The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
