The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 or orders piety? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
