A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)

206 verses, revealed in Mecca after S (Saad) before Jinns (Al-Jinn)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

۞ Alif, Lam, Meem, Sad. 1 (It is) a Scripture that is revealed unto thee (Muhammad) - so let there be no heaviness in thy heart therefrom - that thou mayst warn thereby, and (it is) a Reminder unto believers. 2 Follow (O men!) the revelation given unto you from your Lord, and follow not, as friends or protectors, other than Him. Little it is ye remember of admonition. 3 And how many a town that We destroyed, so Our punishment came to it by night or while they slept at midday. 4 No plea had they, when Our terror came unto them, save that they said: Lo! We were wrong-doers. 5 Most certainly then We will question those to whom (the apostles) were sent, and most certainly We will also question the apostles; 6 We shall recount (their deeds) to them with knowledge, for We were never absent (and saw all they did). 7 On that Day, the weighing is true. He whose scales are heavy those are the prosperers, 8 And as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is light those are they who have made their souls suffer loss because they disbelieved in Our communications. 9 We have made you inhabit the land and provided you with the means of sustenance. Only a few of you give thanks. 10
