۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 [They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth). 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 sitting face to face upon couches, 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 who was wont to ask [me,] 'Why - art thou really one of those who believe it to be true 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 Then he looks, and sees him in the midst of Hell. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 Had it not been for the grace of my Lord I too would have been there (in Hell). 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 And thereafter verily their return is unto the Flaming Fire. 68 Indeed they found their fathers astray. 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
