The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created man 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
