Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha Mim 1 By the clear Book, 2 behold, We have made it an Arabic Koran; haply you will understand; 3 It is in the Origin of the Book with Us, sublime and wise. 4 Should We divert this Good Counsel from you because you are a people immersed in extravagance? 5 Many a prophet had We sent to the earlier communities, 6 And never came there unto them a prophet but they used to mock him. 7 so We destroyed men stronger in valour than they, and the example of the ancients passed away. 8 If thou askest them, 'Who created the heavens and earth?' they will say, 'The All-mighty, the All-knowing created them.' 9 He who made the earth a bed for you, and laid out tracks upon it so that you may find the way; 10 And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; 11 it is He who created all living things in pairs and gave you ships to sail in and beasts to ride upon 12 so that you can sit upon their backs and then remember the Favors of your Lord and say: 'Exaltations to Him who has subjected these to us otherwise, we ourselves were not capable of it, 13 And to our Lord we shall surely return." 14 And they appoint for Him from His bondmen a part! Verily man is an ingrate manifest. 15
