Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
