By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and gently take it away; 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
