The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And the close of night, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
