▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ I swear by the setting of the stars 75 and, indeed, that is a most mighty oath, if you only knew -- 76 That this is indeed the glorious Qur'an 77 In Book well-guarded, 78 None may touch it, except with ablution. 79 [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 80 Do you, then, take this discourse in light esteem, 81 You live by calling it a lie. 82 Wherefore then - when the soul cometh up to the wind-pipe 83 And you wait for the moment (of death), 84 - And We are nearer unto him than ye are, but ye see not - 85 So why is it not, that if you are not to be repaid, – 86 why are you then not able to bring them back to life if you are truthful? 87 Then if he is one of those drawn nigh (to Allah), 88 happiness [awaits him in the life to come,] and inner fulfillment, and a garden of bliss. 89 And if he is of those on the right hand, 90 Then (the greeting) "Peace be unto thee" from those on the right hand. 91 If it is of those who have rejected the Truth and have gone astray, 92 its dwelling will be boiling water 93 And roasting at hell-fire. 94 Verily, this is indeed the truth of truths! 95 Therefor (O Muhammad) praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. 96
God the Almighty always says the truth.
