The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Then where are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
