The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
