Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

The emulous desire of abundance engrosseth you, 1 until you go down to your graves. 2 Yes certainly, you will soon realise! 3 Again, yes certainly, you will soon realise! 4 Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!) 5 You should most certainly have seen the hell; 6 Again, indeed you will see it with certainty. 7 Then, on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight (you indulged in, in this world)! 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
