AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure. 82 So the scream overcame them at morning. 83 And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. 84 We did not create the heavens and the earth, and what is between them except in truth. The Hour is sure to come, therefore, forgive them with a gracious pardon. 85 Indeed your Lord only is the Great Creator, the All Knowing. 86 And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e. Surat Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran. 87 Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers. 88 And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" - 89 Such as We send down for those who make division, 90 [and] who [now] declare this Qur'an to be [a tissue of] falsehoods! 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 for whatever they have done! 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 Verily We will suffice unto thee against the mockers. 95 Those who set up another god with Allah; so they shall soon know. 96 We know indeed thy breast is straitened by the things they say. 97 but extol thou thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise Him, and be of those who prostrate themselves [before Him] in adoration, 98 And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee. 99
