Thamud (people) belied the Messenger. 141 Their brother Salih asked them, "Why do you not fear God? 142 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 143 So fear Allah and obey me. 144 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 145 "Do you think that you will remain here peacefully forever 146 in the midst of gardens and fountains, 147 The fields of corn and date-palm trees with soft and tender spathes, 148 "And you carve houses out of mountains with great skill. 149 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 150 "And follow not the command of Al-Musrifun [i.e. their chiefs, leaders who were polytheists, criminals and sinners], 151 Who work corruption in the land and rectify not. 152 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 153 thou art naught but a mortal, like us; then produce a sign, if thou art one of the truthful.' 154 He said, "This is a she-camel. She will have her share of water as you have your share, each on a certain day. 155 Do not touch her with malice so that punishment of a dreadful day seizes you' 156 But they cruelly slaughtered her - and then they had cause to regret it: 157 and torment struck them. In this there is evidence of the Truth, yet many people do not have any faith. 158 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 159

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
