The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
