۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 Nay, but that Day they shall surrender, 26 They will then turn towards each other (and start wrangling). 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray. 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Thus do We treat the culprits. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 (Sitting) on couches, face to face, 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 Then he will look downwards, and will see him in the depths of Hell. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom). 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For the like of it should the workers work. 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 Then most surely they shall eat of it and fill (their) bellies with it. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 So had many an earlier people gone astray, 71 And verily We sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
