He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 from a blind man who had come up to him. 2 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 To him you give attention. 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 And whereas he fears, 9 you ignore him. 10 These verses are a reminder 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 in [the light of His] revelations blest with dignity, 13 uplifted, purified, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 Noble and pious. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what thing hath He created him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm He creates him, and thereupon determines his nature, 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 to yield therein corn, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 And olives and date palms, 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 and fruits and herbage, 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 on that Day, to every one of them will his own state be of sufficient concern. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 And other faces that Day will be dust-stained, 40 Dust shall cover them 41 Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.
