Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 in a sublime garden, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 and raised couches, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 cushions ranged, 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
