Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Ha Mim: 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful Allah: 2 A Book, the verses of which are distinguished, an Arabic Koran for a nation who know. 3 A bearer of glad tidings and a warner. Yet most of them turn aside, so that they hearken not. 4 And they say: Our hearts are protected from that unto which thou (O Muhammad) callest us, and in our ears there is a deafness, and between us and thee there is a veil. Act, then. Lo! we also shall be acting. 5 Say thou: I am only a human being like unto you; only it is revealed unto me that your God is but One God, wherefore take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe be unto the associators. 6 Those who give not the Zakat and they are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 But those who believe and do the right, will have a continuing reward. 8
