And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much. (See the Quran Verse 35:45). 30 Ye cannot escape in the earth, for beside Allah ye have no protecting friend nor any helper. 31 Among His signs are the ships sailing like mountains on the sea: 32 If He willeth He causeth the wind to cease so that they keep still on the back thereof; verily therein are signs for every patient, grateful person. 33 Or He can cause them to perish because of the (evil) which (the men) have earned; but much doth He forgive. 34 Those who dispute Our verses may know that they have no asylum. 35 AND [remember that] whatever you are given [now] is but for the [passing] enjoyment of life in this world - whereas that which is with God is far better and more enduring. [It shall be given] to all who attain to faith and in their Sustainer place their trust; 36 Those who avoid the greater crimes and shameful deeds, and, when they are angry even then forgive; 37 who have pledged their obedience to the Lord, who are steadfast in prayer, who conduct their affairs with consultation among themselves, who spend for the cause of God out of what We have given them, 38 and who, when insolence visits them, do help themselves -- 39 The recompense of evil is evil the like of it. But he who forgives and makes amends, his reward lies with Allah. Surely He does not love the wrong-doers. 40 And whoever defends himself after his being oppressed, these it is against whom there is no way (to blame). 41 The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress men and wrongly rebel in the earth, for such there will be a painful torment. 42 But he who bears with patience and forgives, surely complies with divine resolve. 43
