The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Compassionate. 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He has created man: 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
