The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 by the night swarming, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
