۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 "How is it that [now] you cannot succour one another?" 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning. 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers, 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 Lo! thus deal We with the guilty. 34 Verily when it was said unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 Behold, you will indeed taste grievous suffering [in the life to come,] 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 For them is a Sustenance determined, 41 Fruits of every kind, and they will be honoured 42 In Gardens of Delight. 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 for the like of this let the workers work.' 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire, 64 The fruit thereof is as though the hoods of the serpents. 65 They will eat from it and fill their bellies with it; 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 Then their return will be to the same blazing Hell. 68 They had found their fathers astray, 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 And assuredly many of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
