Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? 24 When they came to him and said, “Peace”; he answered, “Peace”; and thought, “These people are not familiar.” 25 So he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf. 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?" 31 They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” 34 So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers. 35 But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 There is also a Sign for you in the story of Moses when We sent him with a clear authority to Pharaoh. 38 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea. He became an object of much blame. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. 42 And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. 43 Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
