The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
