And said the chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people and belied the meeting of the Hereafter and whom We had luxuriated in the life of the world: this is no other than a human being like unto you; he eateth of that whereof ye eat, and he drinketh of that which ye drink. 33 And were ye to obey a human being like you, ye are forthwith to be losers. 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead, and become dust and bones, you shall be brought forth? 35 ۞ Away, away with that you are promised! 36 There is no other life than the life of the world. We shall live here and here shall we die; and we are not going to be raised again. 37 He is not but a man who has invented a lie about Allah, and we will not believe him." 38 He said: my Lord! vindicate for they belie me. 39 [Allah] said, "After a little, they will surely become regretful." 40 So the punishment overtook them in justice, and We made them as rubbish; so away with the unjust people. 41 After them We brought another generation into existence. 42 No nation will precede its time [of termination], nor will they remain [thereafter]. 43 Then We sent our messengers one after another. Whenever its messenger came unto a nation they denied him; so We caused them to follow one another (to disaster) and We made them bywords. A far removal for folk who believe not! 44 Then We sent Musa and his brother Haroun, with Our communications and a clear authority, 45 To Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs, but they behaved insolently and they were people self-exalting (by disobeying their Lord, and exalting themselves over and above the Messenger of Allah). 46 They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves, and their people are obedient to us with humility (and we use them to serve us as we like)." 47 Then they accused them of lies, and joined the company of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book that people might be guided by it. 49 And We made the son of Marium and his mother a sign, and We gave them a shelter on a lofty ground having meadows and springs. 50
