The Amramites (Al-Imraan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 Allah! There is no god save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. 2 He hath revealed unto thee the Book with truth confirming that which went before it; and He sent down the Taurat and Injil. 3 Before, as guidance for the people. And He revealed the Qur'an. Indeed, those who disbelieve in the verses of Allah will have a severe punishment, and Allah is exalted in Might, the Owner of Retribution. 4 Nothing on earth or in heaven is hidden from Allah. 5 It is He Who fashions (moulds) you in your mothers’ wombs as He wills; none is worthy of worship except Him, the Almighty (the Most Honourable), the Wise. 6 He it is Who has revealed the Book to you; some of its verses are decisive, they are the basis of the Book, and others are allegorical; then as for those in whose hearts there is perversity they follow the part of it which is allegorical, seeking to mislead and seeking to give it (their own) interpretation. but none knows its interpretation except Allah, and those who are firmly rooted in knowledge say: We believe in it, it is all from our Lord; and none do mind except those having understanding. 7 "Our Lord!" (they say), "Let not our hearts deviate now after Thou hast guided us, but grant us mercy from Thine own Presence; for Thou art the Grantor of bounties without measure. 8 Our Lord, surely You will gather the people for a Day about which there is no doubt. Indeed, Allah does not fail in His promise." 9
