The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He has created man: 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
