The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In gardens of delight; 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 As for those of the right hand -- how (happy) those of the right hand -- 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 and spreading shade 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And carpets raised. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 And made them virgins. 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
