The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 By Him Who hath created the male and the female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 and calls the ultimate good a lie 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
