The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
