And when your Lord called out to Musa, saying: Go to the unjust people, 10 and ask them, "Why do you not fear God?" 11 He said, “My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.” 12 My breast is constricted and my tongue is not fluent, so endow Messengership on Aaron. 13 As for me, they hold the charge of a crime against me. I fear they will put me to death." 14 He said: by no means. So go ye twain with Our signs; verily We shall be with you listening. 15 They came to the Pharaoh and said, "We are the Messengers of the Lord of the Universe. 16 [Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'" 17 He said, 'Did we not raise thee amongst us as a child? Didst thou not tarry among us years of thy life? 18 And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!' 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 I fled from you because I feared you. But my Lord has given me judgment and made me one of the Messengers. 21 And [as for] that favour of which thou so tauntingly remindest me - [was it not] due to thy having enslaved the children of Israel?" 22 The Pharaoh asked: "And what is the Lord of all the worlds?" 23 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, if you seek to be convinced with certainty." 24 Said Firaun to those around him, “Are you not listening with attention?” 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 26 Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" 27 He said: The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand. 28 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "If you choose an ilah (god) other than me, I will certainly put you among the prisoners." 29 He said: What! even if I bring to you something manifest? 30 [Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful." 31 So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest. 32 and he drew his hand (out of his armpit) and lo! it had become a shining object to the beholders. 33
