And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They said: We worship idols, so we shall be their votaries. 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They said: nay; but we found our fathers doing in this wise. 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 “You and your forefathers preceding you.” 76 They are an enemy to me, except the Lord of all Being 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 He who gives me food and drink; 79 and heals me when I am sick. 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 And who, I hope, will condone my faults on the Day of Judgement. 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 The day on which property will not avail, nor sons 88 Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)]. 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 And Hell is brought near to the perverse' 91 "And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped- 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 They will dispute between themselves therein, and will say, 96 "'By Allah, we were truly in an error manifest, 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 yet they who have seduced us [into believing in you] are the truly guilty ones! 99 We have no intercessors now, 100 Nor a true friend; 101 Would that we had a second chance [in life,] so that we could be among the believers!" 102 Surely, in that there is a sign, yet most of them do not believe. 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104
