The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Has there [not] come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing [even] mentioned? 1 Lo! We create man from a drop of thickened fluid to test him; so We make him hearing, knowing. 2 We have indeed shown him the way whether he is grateful or ingrate. 3 We have prepared chains, shackles, and flaming fire (for the disbelievers). 4 [whereas,] behold, the truly virtuous shall drink from a cup flavoured with the calyx of sweet-smelling flowers: 5 which flows from a spring from which the servants of God will drink. 6 They fulfill their vow and dread a Day the evil whereof shall be widespreading. 7 they give food, despite their love for it, to the poor and orphans and captives, 8 'We feed you only for the Face of God; we desire no recompense from you, no thankfulness; 9 We are afraid of our Lord and the bitterly distressful day". 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that day, and gave them freshness and joy. 11 And shall recompense them for that which they patiently bare with a Garden and silken garment. 12 Reclining in it, upon thrones; they will not see the hot sunshine in it, nor the bitter cold. 13 And near above them are its shades, and its [fruit] to be picked will be lowered in compliance. 14 And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and cups of crystal, 15 And crystal clear bottles of silver, of which they will determine the measure themselves. 16 There will they drink a cup flavoured with ginger 17 drawn from a spring (in Paradise) called Salsabil. 18 ۞ Immortal youths shall go about them; when thou seest them, thou supposest them scattered pearls, 19 And when you see there, you shall see blessings and a great kingdom. 20 they will wear green garments of fine silk and rich brocade. They will be adorned with silver bracelets. And their Lord will give them a pure drink. 21 [And it will be said], "Indeed, this is for you a reward, and your effort has been appreciated." 22

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
