Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And those that strike violently, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 separating one from another, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 Till an appointed term, 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
